NEW COURSE FOR 2020!

THIS CLASS WILL BE PRESENTED ONLINE

Overview:

Although Steam 101 is a new course in the Winstel Controls training lineup, we have presented Steam technology training for years to those customers that had requested guidance for their technicians. But now Jeff Lasita of Winstel Controls has turned this training into a curriculum that we can offer to all and add to our regular schedule of training classes. Anyone who wants to learn something about steam and boilers can now get the benefit of this very informative 2-hour class.

This course is designed to provide a cursory overview of steam and boilers. There is only so much you can do in 2 hours, but students will be introduced to the 3 basic concepts that make a steam boiler function and the controls that will keep it running safely. They will be introduced to the two types of steam systems they will encounter and important terminology needed when discussing steam.

Topical Outline:

  • Overview
  • Terminology
  • Types of Steam Systems
  • Common items to both systems
  • Producing Clean, Dry Steam
  • Removing Air from Main(s) and Terminal units
  • Returning Condensate back to the Boiler
  • Questions

Continuing Education Credits:

  • 2-hours OH - (HV, HY, PL) Course #3860053
