The CCAR Recovery Coach Academy 

This is a 5-day required Core training designed for individuals interested in becoming Peer Support Specialists. The training will provide individuals with the skills needed to guide, mentor and support anyone who would like to enter into sustain long term recovery. Total 30 Hours of CEUs: 7.5 Advocacy, 9 Ethics,5.25 Mentoring/Education, 8.25 Recovery/Wellness

Trainers:

LaTonia Rich, CPRS, RPS, has over 10 years of experience delivering substance use and recovery services and education to people with lived experience, allies, and families.

Edwin Rich, CPRS, RPS, has over 10 years of experience delivering substance use and recovery services and education to people with lived experience, allies, and families..

Registration Information: Registrants will need to provide their full name, accessible email address, home mailing address, and name of organization. Each registrant must have a device (laptop, tablet, or Smart phone) that has a camera. Cameras must be on during the training with your name posted. Please use a fully charged or plugged into electric outlet device and a quite space that provides privacy for you and others attending the training. All materials (participant handouts which will be mailed to you) extra pens, etc. should be present to make this an effective work environment for you. You must complete a Behavioral Health System Baltimore evaluation form in order to receive your CEUs.

Continuing Education Units 

Peer Recovery Specialists – This training has been approved by the Maryland Addiction and Behavioral Health Professionals Certificate Board (MABPCB).

Continuing Education Units –

BHSB has applied for approval for CEUs for peer recovery specialists.

BHSB CEU notice – BHSB will only award CEUs to trainees who complete the entire training. For example, if a webinar is offered on multiple dates, trainees must attend all days in order to receive CEUs.
