EFT Core Skill I workshop with trainer
Debi Scimeca-Diaz

It's been several months since the Porter Cason Institute for the Family at the Tulane University School of Social Work teamed up with Emotional Focused Therapy Trainer George Faller to provide local mental health professionals with a four-day EFT Basic Externship. Now Tulane is inviting EFT Trainer Debi Scimeca-Diaz to begin to take us to the next level with the EFT Core Skills I Training. Debi will be joined by Karen Giunta, Certified EFT Supervisor, and EFT Supervisor Candidates and Certified EFT Therapists from the Louisiana EFT Community.

The four-day workshop will be held on Tuesday, April 19 through Friday, April 22 from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day. The training will be held in Room 422 on the fourth floor of the Tulane School of Social Work, located at 127 Elk Place.

EFT Core Skills I Training provides an “in-depth” experience in learning the skills essential to the practice of EFT. This week will focus on Stage 1 of EFT - De-Escalation, the first change event in EFT. This training session is comprised of didactic presentation, role plays, trainee presentation of material, and a "live" consultation session. Core Skills participants are required to have completed an EFT externship and be willing to present their own work through audio/videotape to the group (required for completion certificate).

In order to receive the course certificate and to meet EFT certification requirements for group supervision, you must provide either an audio or videotape segment of your work.  In this segment (approx. 10-15 minutes), we will assist you in your ability to apply EFT skills and interventions. If you have any questions about taping sessions, equipment, specifics about the training, etc., please contact Karen Giunta at  kgiuntalmft@gmail.com.
