Three CEU Workshop Opportunities
The Tulane School of Social Work is proud to present a series of state board approved CEU events on Friday, Sept. 11 and Saturday, Sept. 12 on the fourth floor of the Tulane School of Social Work in Room 422. The School is located at 127 Elk Place. 

SOAR to Success in Supervision, Ethics and Cultural Diversity
THIS WORKSHOP IS FULL. NO MORE REGISTRANTS ARE BEING ACCEPTED!
Friday, Sept. 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
"SOAR to Success in Supervision, Ethics and Cultural Diversity", a 6.5-hour workshop for those looking to become a Board Approved Clinical Supervisor (BACS), will be offered by Laury A. Bourgeois, LCSW-BACS on Friday. The event will be held on the fourth floor of the Tulane School of Social Work in Room 422. The School is located at 127 Elk Place. Participants will earn 6.5 CEUs for attending, and registration begins at 8:30 a.m. The registration fee is $150.

Participants can expect to learn how to:

  • Increase their knowledge of supervision, ethics and cultural diversity;
  • Assess their own personal supervisory style;
  • Display a renewed enthusiasm for supervision;
  • Create a plan for how they will integrate diversity into supervision; and
  • Develop their own ethical paradigm to use when solving ethical dilemmas.

 

Journaling Your Way to Ethical Engagement
Saturday, Sept. 12 from 8:30 a.m. to Noon
"Journaling Your Way to Ethical Engagement", a 3-hour workshop that meets the Ethics requirement for all credentialed social workers, will be offered by Laury A. Bourgeois, LCSW-BAC
S, on Saturday morning. The event will be held on the fourth floor of the Tulane School of Social Work in Room 422. The School is located at 127 Elk Place. Participants will earn 3 Ethics CEUs for attending, and registration begins at 8 a.m. The registration fee is $75.

  • Explore the use of journaling as a tool to becoming more ethically engaged;
  • Develop your own ethical paradigm to use when solving ethical dilemma;
  • Develop your own plan to ensure on-going Ethical Engagement in your social work career.

Journaling as a Tool in Clinical Supervision
Saturday, Sept. 12 from 1 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.
"Journaling as a Tool in Clinical Supervision" will be offered by Laury A. Bourgeois, LCSW-BACS, on Saturday afternoon. This CEU workshop provides three hours of Clinical Supervision to meet the LABSWE requirement for BACSs who want to continue their BACS status. The event will be held on the fourth floor of the Tulane School of Social Work in Room 422. The School is located at 127 Elk Place. Participants will earn 3 CEUs,
 and registration begins at 12:30 p.m. The registration fee is $75.

  • Increase your knowledge of the use of journaling with your supervisees;
  • Display an increased interest in using journaling in supervision;

About the Presenter
Workshop presenter Laury A. Bourgeois, LCSW-BACS, received a BA in Sociology from the University of Missouri in 1976 and her MSW from the Tulane School of Social Work in 1977. Ms. Bourgeois has been invested in quality social work services, management and supervision for more than 35 years. She currently serves as the adjunct faculty at the Tulane School of Social Work, writes grants, provides licensing supervision and sees clients in her private practice in New Orleans. She has successfully worked with numerous at-risk populations and began offering training to social workers in the south of France in 2005.

If you pay by check, payment should be mailed immediately after completing the online registration form. Please fill out the registration form, but your final registration is predicated on receiving your payment. Once your payment is received, you will receive an e-mail confirming your registration into the program, and you will be guaranteed a spot at the workshop.

CANCELLATION POLICY -- In the event  you cannot come to our program, it is important for you to notify us before the program begins, either by email (preferred) at blrl@tulane.edu or via phone at 504-865-5314.  We will refund the registration fee if notified before the event begins, after the event begins there are no refunds.  


Parking Information
The Tulane School of Social Work is located at 127 Elk Place. Please see the location map.

 There are two entrances to the school. You can enter through the main entrance located at 127 Elk Place or via the second floor skywalk from the Saratoga Parking Garage, located at 111 S. Saratoga St.  NOTE: On Saturday, you MUST use the Saratoga Skywalk to enter the building.

 There are various surface lots in close proximity to the school that you can use if you would like. The average price to park in a ground level lot is $4 per day. If you park in a ground lot, please use the school’s main entrance located at 127 Elk Place and take the elevator to the fourth floor. The Saratoga Parking Garage is the closest parking garage and is located at 111 S. Saratoga St. The daily rate for the garage is $7, but the garage does have direct access to the school via the skywalk on the second floor. To find the skywalk, just follow the yellow posts in the parking garage once you exit the elevator lobby on the second floor in the garage. Once you enter 127 Elk Place, go down the hall to the elevators and take them to the fourth floor.
