Crowdsource Your Library - Webinar (02/09/21)

Everyone's familiar with crowdfunding. You've had friends who needed assistance with medical bills and created a GoFundMe. Or maybe you even contributed to the Kickstarter campaign of a really cool looking new video game. What you might not know is how valuable crowdfunding and crowdsourcing can be for your library.

For anything from digitization projects to finding funding for building renovations using "the wisdom of the crowd" has become an excellent resource for public libraries. This webinar will give you an introduction to crowdfunding and crowdsourcing, help you determine which platform might best serve you and showcase some of the amazing things libraries have accomplished using these innovative tools.

Virtual Trainer: Sara Fiore

Sara Fiore is a reference librarian at the Rogers Memorial Library in Southampton, New York. She lives on Eastern Long Island with her husband and two sons. She is the author of the book Crowdsource Your Library, Engage Your Community: The What, When, Why, and HowHer writing has also appeared in Library Journal, YALSA, and Public Libraries Online. While not on social media you can often find her on Goodreads where she writes under the name Sara The Librarian.
