NEFLIN Marketing and Outreach Interest Groups - Orange Park (08/12/15)

NEFLIN Interest Groups - new members always welcome!

During this meeting, members from both the Marketing and Outreach Interest Groups will share best practices for marketing outreach events and a discussion of how libraries market at outreach events.  Please join us!

Interest groups offer NEFLIN members outstanding networking, informational, and problem solving opportunities.  They offer a chance to come together to discuss hot topics and provide a forum to let others know what is going on in the library where you work.

Marketing Group Leader: Kathy Lusier, APR, Jacksonville Public Library

Kathy Lussier, APR, is the Manager of Community Relations and Marketing for the Jacksonville Public Library system.  In her role, she leads a team of talented individuals who have a passion for spreading the word about the programs and services of the Jacksonville Public Library through marketing, public relations, branding, media relations, community relations, lifelong learning and social media using brochures, fliers, posters, web graphics and other materials.  Kathy brings 30 years of experience in corporate public relations and marketing as well as government relations and television news to her position at JPL, which she has held for four years.  A graduate of the University of Texas with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism, Kathy earned her national accreditation in public relations (APR) from the Public Relations Society of America in 1999.  She and her husband Joe (and adorable dog Napoleon) have lived in Jacksonville for 12 years.

Outreach Group Leader: David H. Fuller Jr., Alachua County Library District

David Fuller is the Outreach Services Department Manager at the Alachua County Library District in Gainesville, Florida.  He has worked in both academic and public libraries throughout his career.  His belief is that as technology and library users’ needs change, so must libraries to meet those needs.

This group will meet after the Stop, Collaborate, and Listen workshop with presenters from University of North Florida's Thomas G. Carpenter Library, meeting from 9:00 am - 12:00 noon.  This event is free of charge for all Florida library staff, but registration is required.

Cost: NEFLIN Interest Groups are free of charge and are open to NEFLIN members only.  Registration is strongly encouraged.
