Mindfulness Meditation is a simple, gentle, and effective mental training that is designed to bring the mind back to the present moment. It is not designed to cure illness, but rather to help the meditator become more positive and resilient in dealing with suffering.

Thirty years of research have shown that Mindfulness Meditation can bring improvements to a wide range of physical and emotional problems relating to stress and anxiety. In particular, recent research has found Mindfulness Meditation to be helpful to cancer patients in the following ways: decreased stress & fatigue; improved sleep; improved psychological functioning; better coping skills; and improved mood & sense of well-being.

Mindfulness Meditation is free from any particular faith or religious belief. It involves the cultivation of calm and grounded energy that promotes physical wellness, mental clarity and emotional peace.

Mindfulness Meditation calms the body, clarifies the mind, and warms the heart.

About This Course
This is a structured, experiential course that is designed to help participants cultivate calmness, groundedness and self-compassion, all of which are a tremendous help in the face of the uncertainty that is an intimate part of living with cancer. Participants will be supported in the establishment of the kind of daily meditation practice that is essential for the benefits of Mindfulness Meditation to be realized. It a psycho-educational and skills-training course; it is not a cancer support group nor a form of group or individual psychotherapy.

IMPORTANT NOTE: For you to get the most out of this course, you will need         to be able to commit a block of between 30 and 45 minutes per day to practicing Mindfulness at home. This is often the most difficult part of the course!                 Please take a moment to reflect on when during your day you will be able to make (not find!) at least 30 minutes per day for home practice.

About Dr. Kate Partridge
Mindfulness Meditation practice has transformed my life in a gradual, gentle but very positive way. I first began to practice meditation regularly after being diagnosed with cancer about 33 years ago. The practice quickly provided me with a sense of emotional stability and relative well-being, so that I was able to cope much better with the treatments and other complications of cancer.  This experience has made me passionate about wanting to share the practice with others women who are living with cancer.

For the past 30 years, I have presented seminars and workshops to organizations of all kinds, from large corporations to small non-profit groups.

In my private practice I focus on working with individual adults who wish to learn the practice of Mindfulness Meditation, for personal growth and/or for help in dealing with stress-related physical and emotional problems, anxiety, panic, depression and chronic pain.  I also offer Meditation Coaching, in person or by phone or Skype.
