About Mindfulness Meditation
Mindfulness Meditation is a simple, gentle, and effective mental training that is designed to bring the mind back to the present moment. Through training the
brain in this way, we create a spacious and compassionate relationship with ourselves and our experience.

Thirty years of medical research have demonstrated that Mindfulness Meditation can bring improvements to a wide range of problems including:

  • Stress, anxiety & panic
  • Sleep problems
  • Emotional over-reactivity & irritability
  • Depression
  • Worrying, racing thoughts
  • Chronic pain
  • Many stress-related physical problems such as: IBS, high blood pressure, headaches, and psoriasis

Mindfulness Meditation is free from any particular faith or religious belief.  It empowers you to work consciously and systematically with your own stress, pain, illness, and the challenges of daily life.

About This Course
This course is based on, but is not exactly the same as, the 8-week Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) course developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn. This is not group therapy: it is a psycho-educational course that focuses on skills training and experiential learning designed to help you:

  • Clearly understand what Mindfulness Meditation is
  • Recognize stress and regulate it before it causes problems
  • Cultivate inner stability and self-compassion
  • Establish the kind of daily meditation practice that is essential for the benefits of Mindfulness Meditation to be realized

IMPORTANT NOTE: For you to get the most out of this course, you will need         to be able to commit a block of between 30 and 45 minutes per day to practicing Mindfulness at home. This is often the most difficult part of the course!                 Please take a moment to reflect on when during your day you will be able to make (not find!) at least 30 minutes per day for home practice.

About Dr. Kate Partridge
For more than 25 years, my daily Mindfulness Meditation practice has transformed my life in a gradual, gentle but very positive way. It has made me passionate about wanting to share the practice with others. I was trained to teach Mindfulness Meditation at the Center for Mindfulness, University of Massachusetts Medical School.

For the past 30 years, I have presented seminars and workshops to organizations of all kinds, from large corporations to small non-profit groups.

In my private practice I focus on working with individual adults who wish to learn the practice of Mindfulness Meditation, for personal growth and/or for help in dealing with stress-related physical and emotional problems, anxiety, panic, depression and chronic pain.  I also offer Meditation Coaching, in person or by phone or Skype.
