 VIRTUAL MEETING

Topic:

Racial Inequality and How Personal Finance Sphere
Upholds Systemic Racism

Speaker(s):
Tanja Hester
Blogger, Our Next Life
Podcast Host, The Fairer Cents

______________________

Description:

While it may be deeply uncomfortable to talk about race, if we care about helping people with their finances, we must be willing to take a clear-eyed look at the ways standard financial advice – as well as the financial systems clients must interact with – upholds systemic racism, even when we don’t intend it to. This talk will provide a detailed look at how we inadvertently uphold systems that disadvantage people of color disproportionately, and provide more inclusive alternatives.

* This topic does not qualify for CFP CE credit.
