Description:
In California, 60% of residents are non-white, and the 40% who are white come from many backgrounds. While differences make every group interesting, they also bring challenges to understanding a client's values and behaviors. The goal of this session is to examine cultural dimensions that may affect the client relationship. An example would be eye contact. In some cultures, eye contact is considered necessary to build trust; in others, eye contact can be seen as disrespectful or challenging. By learning about behavioral differences, we can build a deeper connection to our clients. *This topic has been approved by the CFP Board for 1.0 hour of CE credit.
