The Selective Mutism Association is proud to host our annual conference this year in a fully-virtual format. The virutal format will allow us to continue to offer innovative, meaningful content, to share advances in assessment and treatment of SM. We are excited that for the first time the conference will offer a track dedicated to individuals with SM (ages 17 and up). The conference will be a wonderful time of gathering for the selectvie mutism community to learn the latest in evidence-based information, support one another and connect our community.
Please Note: This conference will be offered in English only. SMA is not able to offer translation servcies at this time.
Keynote Speaker:
We are excited to announce Anne Marie Albano, Ph.D., as our Keynote Speaker. Dr. Albano is a Professor of Medical Psychology in Psychiatry at Columbia University, holds many professional and clinical positions, and is widely published.
Keynote address: The Long and Winding Path to Emerging Adulthood
The conference will offer three participation tracks this year:
You can choose to attend any of the presentations. This is a live conference and all sessions are recorded for later viewing. The conference will begin with the keynote address applicable for all registrants. Then, in addition to the conference sessions, we will host an expert Q&A panel, and a Hear Our Voices panel where individuals will discuss their experiences and recovery from SM.
Please stay tuned for more information on continuing education for professionals.
