The COVID-19 pandemic has been changing the landscape of video games at an exponential rate.  Screen time, mental health, and social needs have seen the greatest change during this new high demand for video games. This presentation will take an encompassing look at contemporary video games and their potential effects and the development of children and adolescents.

  • Participants will be able identify a potential positive aspect video games have on the development of children and adolescents.
  • Participants will be able to identify a potential negative aspect video games have on the the development of children and adolescents.
  • Participants will be able to identify one potential way the COVID19 pandemic has impacted the utilization of video games.
