Workshop Description:
Presentation to include discussion on diagnosing and recognition of chemical dependency in primary care. The treatment of addiction in primary care will be examined. Detoxification as an outpatient and use of BuprenorphineŽ and NaloxoneŠ in an outpatient setting, its uses and limitations will be discussed.

Jefferson C. Jones, M.D.
Dr. Jeff Jones is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Georgia Academy of Family Practice, Muscogee County Medical Society, Medical Association of Georgia, and The American Society of Addiction Medicine. He is board certified in Family Practice and Chemical Dependency and has achieved Fellowship in the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is licensed in Georgia and Alabama. Dr. Jones earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine. He completed his residency in Family Practice at The Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia.
