What is CHA?
Certified Horsemanship Association
The CHA was founded in 1967. Their mission is to promote excellence in safety and education for the benefit of the horse industry. This is accomplished by certifying instructors, accrediting facilities and publishing educational resources.

Denver Equestrians Riding School provides a comprehensive education in classical riding based on CHA curriculum. Riders interested in receiving a Certificate of Completion will work at their own pace to pass Level 1 prior to moving up to Level 2, and so on through Level 4.

DE Founder Corinne Lettau is a graduate of the CHA program. CorinneStarting at age 10, she diligently studied the manuals and rode her best in an effort to progress to higher levels of achievement. Upon passing each level, she would display the equivalent CHA badge proudly on her riding jacket. By 15yrs, she had successfully completed all 4 levels in both disciplines. Corinne became a CHA Certified Instructor in 1993.

"CHA provided a solid foundation for my equine education. It instilled motivation to continue to learn more and progress through the levels. The manuals are based on classical fundamentals (they have not changed since I first read them- well, except that they were just $3 back then!). It is truly my pleasure to bring CHA to the next generation of horse lovers!"

Denver Equestrians Riding School CHA Level Testing

You are invited to join us at Denver Equestrians Riding School for our Certified Horsemanship Association Certificate Level Testing Horse Show! Adults and young riders alike are encouraged to participate. Please discuss level options and goals with your trainer so she can assist you in preparing for the test. Set a goal now and be ready to ride for the judges this fall.

IMPORTANT: You will need to purchase a CHA Manual. Levels 1, 2, 3 & 4 are available in the office ($28ea). All rides require having passed a written exam at that level(s). Once riders have passed the written exam(s), they must also pass a riding test(s) in order to receive a certificate at that level. If a rider fails to pass the written exam, the ride will be forfeited and class fee will be returned. Each test requires a different ride time. Students may have multiple ride times if they are testing up to level 2, 3, or 4 at one show.

Many of our weekly clients, along with Summer Horse Campers who are interested in testing, will be registering for this Horse Show.

We have over 100 weekly clients, 120 summer campers, and only 30 CHA Level Testing spaces. Secure your space early - follow the link below to register today!
