2014 Quintessence Summer Choral Festival 

Register today to sing with Quintessence for our second annual Summer Choral Festival! Our 2013 Festival brought together over 100 singers from all over Albuquerque, and we look forward to an even larger group this summer.

On Sunday, July 27, 2014, 3:00 p.m. at V. Sue Cleveland High School, we will perform Haydn’s “Lord Nelson” Mass  with a professional orchestra, under the direction of Quintessence Artistic Director Matthew Greer.

Rehearsals begin Saturday, July 19.

SCHEDULE
Our rehearsals from July 19-25 will be at St. John’s United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona Street NE. Free childcare will be available for those sessions. Our final rehearsal with orchestra on July 26 will be held at V. Sue Cleveland High School Concert Hall, as will the performance on July 27.

2014 QUINTESSENCE SUMMER CHORAL FESTIVAL FAQ

INFORMATION FOR SINGERS

WHO MAY PARTICIPATE?

Any singers high school age or older.

IS THERE A LIMIT TO THE NUMBER OF SINGERS?
We have a limit of 125 singers. Some sections may be capped, depending on the balance of the choir as registrations come in.  (Invite tenors!)

FEE
$20 per participant, payable at first rehearsal or online. Fee is waived for full-time students.

SCORES
A pdf of the score (80 pages, with all conductor markings, breathmarks, etc) will be made available for download. You may download and print the score yourself for free, or you may pay $4.00 and a score will be printed for you, three hole punched, and available for pick-up in June. If you would like to purchase a score, please make that selection when you register. All singers must provide a black three-ring binder for their score.

ATTENDANCE
Singers should miss no more than one of the six scheduled rehearsals. The rehearsal on Saturday July 26 is mandatory.

CONCERT DRESS
Simple black for women; dark pants, white long-sleeved shirt, long tie for men.
