WTS MN August Program: Accessibility

WTS MN invites you to learn about accessibility.

Kristin Jornby will start off our meeting with some training on the Olmstead Plan. She will help people
understand some of the legal requirements of providing accessibility with regards to transportation and how we got to where we are today.

Tara McBride will then discuss what MnDOT has been doing on the trunk highway system to address pedestrian accessibility in the past as well as plans for the future with our transition plan.  She will
discuss some lessons learned from both design and construction.

After, will open up the discussion to others to ask questions and to share examples of projects they
have worked on that helped address accessibility in transportation within Minnesota.

Following the presentation and discussion, we will make our way over to Surly Brewery to socialize. On the
way, we will discuss accessibility issues with the current transportationinfrastructure in the area.
