The Lionel Loueke Trio

Praised by his mentor Herbie Hancock as “a musical painter,” Loueke combines harmonic complexity, soaring melody, a deep knowledge of African folk forms, and conventional and extended guitar techniques to create a warm and evocative sound of his own.  Along with Massimo Biolcati on bass and Ferenc Nemeth on drums, Loueke’s trio will play music from his latest CD’s, Mwaliko and Heritage, as well as some new material and a few standards.

• We expect a completely full house! Please read and forward this very important information to your guests, especially if you will arrive separately!

• Arrive Early!: Leave plenty of time for traffic and 5-10 minutes to walk from the parking lot. NOTE: If you arrive after 7:50 we cannot guarantee your seat!

• The performance begins at 8:00pm. The lobby opens at 7:00pm and general seating begins at 7:30pm. All unfilled seats will be released at 7:50 to those without reservations, in order of arrival.

• Parking: Please park in the Davis Parking Lot (free parking), which is located near the Central Street entrance (West Entrance) to the Wellesley College campus. HERE is a Campus Map.

• Q/A and Reception: There will be a 15 minute Question and Answer session in the Auditorium following the performance. A reception will begin after the Q/A, in the lobby of Jewett Auditorium.

• Restrooms are located on the lower level of the building. There will be signs directing you to the restrooms and elevator, if needed. The performance will be 90 minutes with no intermission.

• CD's will be for sale for $20 each, cash only.
