Encountering Hope in the Hungering Dark
Wednesdays, Nov. 28 and Dec. 12
“Help us not to fall in love with the night that covers us but through the darkness to watch for you as well as to work for you; to dream and hunger in the dark for the light of you...” Frederick Buechner, The Hungering Dark
Written in 1969; in the midst of the Vietnam War, the death of Martin Luther King and Bobby Kennedy, these words resonate today. Come and share with others as we search for hope in today's world. Using Buechner's small book of sermons as a place to begin, we will share and explore how faith can bring us to hope.
Participants are encouraged to purchase the book ahead of time. It can be purchased here.
Facilitated by Wellspring team members: Joanne Conway, Barbara Dundon and Elizabeth Morrison.
