The survey course focuses not only on the basic content of the 27 books of the New Testament but seeks to develop the analytical skills required to read, interpret, discuss and critically assess these passages in a manner appropriate to intelligent people of faith. We pay particular attention to the various perspectives on Jesus as well as the epistles of Paul, Peter and James in order to enrich our understanding of the early church. The course is intended to foster the student’s development of a personal, loving relationship with God while at the same time providing a solid scriptural foundation for later theology studies.
