Liturgical Practicums 

Instead of online coursework for April, we are offering multiple options for liturgical practice. Open to those in formation for the diaconate and priesthood, as well as deacons and priests who would like a refresher! Some reading and/or preparation may be set for each practicum at the instructor’s discretion.

Each practicum costs $40 to register. Lunch will be served at 11:30 and is included in the registration cost.

8:30 - 11:30am: Presiding at Eucharist and Baptism

The Rev. Paul Allick will walk through the priest’s work in the liturgies of Eucharist and Baptism from the Book of Common Prayer 1979.

8:30 - 11:30am: The Deacon in the Liturgy

The Rev. Janet MacNally will work with those preparing to serve as deacons on the deacon’s work in liturgy, focusing especially on the Eucharist.

12:30 – 3:30pm: The Deacon during Holy Week

The Rev. Janet MacNally will walk through the deacon’s roles in Holy Week liturgies, with a special focus on the Great Vigil.

12:30 - 3:30pm: Presiding at Weddings and Funerals

 The Rev. Buff Grace will work with students to practice leading wedding rehearsals, weddings, and funerals.
