Sisters in Christ

First Annual Retreat

Life is full of trials and trouble. Even God’s people sometimes feel lost and confused. But even in the face of adversity, we know that God is in control. He is the one to whom we can always turn for peace and comfort. He promises to protect us from the devil, the world, and our own sinful selves. And he surrounds us with the songs of the greatest deliverance of all: our salvation in Jesus our Savior. This deliverance brings us the amazing joy of knowing that we have a home in heaven waiting for us. This world and its troubles are temporary, and our God will walk beside us all the way. He will protect us and surround us with the greatest song ever sung. Join us for a weekend of reflecting on God’s great love, protection, and deliverance in Jesus!

More Details

Friday Night Opening Session
Pastor Mike Biedenbender - Why and Where Are You Hiding?

"Hide and Seek" is a game we all played as children. But maybe, just maybe, we play that game more often than we care to admit. Maybe, just maybe, hiding has become such part of our lives that we don't even realize that we are hiding. In Psalm 32, David realized that he had been hiding in the wrong place and found himself exhausted. Are you hiding? If so, where are you hiding and from what?

Optional Saturday Afternoon Bible Study
Pastor Mike Biedenbender
Faith Lutheran Church, Mt. Pleasant, MI
Name that Tune!
Pastor Mike Biedenbender will lead the optional afternoon Bible study on our theme verse.
Come and learn about the songs sung to us by our God which move our hearts and souls because they carry with them the power of the Holy Spirit. They move us to focus on the glory of our God, his grace, his protection, and his purposes for us.

Saturday Afternoon Keynote Address
Lisa Hecht - God’s Provision of Truth and Love for Emotional Suffering We all suffer emotionally at some point in our lives, some of us more than others. Suffering is part of our life on earth. Having a more accurate, scientific understanding of what emotions are, how, why and where they happen is an important step in enabling a person to better resolve difficult feelings. From this understanding comes a natural healing and care process, for us and those we love. “God is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine.”
