TOPIC
Disruption in the Construction Industry

TOPIC SUMMARY
Disruption is everywhere! Time-tested business models, methods, and approaches are being challenged daily by new competitors, new methods, and new expectations. It is critical for today’s business leaders to refrain from relying on past successes, and instead work to identify disruptors and the risks they create before it results in lost share, profit, or worse. However, with a pro-active focus and mindset, today’s business leaders can actually embrace the opportunities that come from disruption for growth and expansion.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Discuss why disruption is so prevalent today, and what is causing its  expansion to new markets and industries on a daily basis.

  • Understand the risks to current models and why decades of success are put at extreme risk with complacency.

  • Look at disruption in a balanced manner; there is as much upside potential  as there is downside.

  • Develop the mindset to identify disruption before it's too late to mitigate (risk) or seize (opportunity).
