Jessica Reed-RobbinsWhat is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is an ancient form of healing art that utilises the natural state of hypnosis to access the infinite power of the subconscious mind. It has been used for centuries to effortlessly bring about positive and therapeutic changes in our thoughts, feelings and behaviours. Hypnosis is a naturally occurring state, but by learning hypnosis techniques, we can bring about this state and use it to communicate directly with the subconscious mind to effect positive changes. Hypnotherapy can be used for a number of applications; self-hypnosis for relaxation, healing the body, habit breaking, reducing stress and overcoming emotional and behavioural problems. In recent years, hypnotherapy has gained credibility in the medical world after a recommendation from the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) recognised hypnotherapy as a treatment for irritable bowel syndrome (IBS).
