Hoarding: OMG! What Do I Do Now?


Annual conference of the Hoarding Connection of Cuyahoga County. This conference will explore the identification of hoarding situations, assessment of individuals who hoard, community responses and available interventions, and treatment options for those who are diagnosed with hoarding disorder. 

Keynote Speaker: Randy Frost, PhD, Smith College, co-author of Buried in Treasures.

Sponsored by the ADAMHS Board of Cuyahoga County with support from Benjamin Rose Institute on Aging.

Registration at 8am. Program starts at 8:30am.

6.25 continuing education credits available for building inspectors, counselors, social workers, and sanitarians.

 LEARNING OBJECTIVES

Participants will:

  • Identify signs of hoarding/hoarding behavior throughout the lifespan
  • Describe available community responses to hoarding situations
  • Understand levels of hoarding and appropriate interventions for different levels
  • Understand available treatments for individuals who hoard, including peer-led Buried in Treasures groups and Finders Keepers

ALLOHA PRECONFERENCE

ALLOHA - or the All-Ohio Hoarding Association - is a group of representatives from hoarding task forces across the state who meet periodically to discuss best practices and challenges to dealing with hoarding issues in their communities. We will hold an ALLOHA Preconference Roundtable on Thursday, April 12 from 2-5pm. To attend ALLOHA roundtable, complete box above payment on the registration form.
