Cosplay & Costume Policy

 

Please read this policy and follow the rules! No exceptions!! If you violate this policy, you could be asked to leave the Fort Hamilton Comic Con! without refund. 

Any weapon that could seriously hurt someone is not allowed. Specifically, but not limited to:
 
  • Functional firearms – that includes paintball, airsoft, bb guns, cap guns, any gun that shoots a real projectile or causes a real explosion.
  • Realistic firearms – any gun that could be confused for a real gun.
  • Prop weapons made of a hard material such as metal or glass.
  • Functional projectile weapons – any weapon (crossbow, slingshot, etc) that discharges a projectile.
  • Metal-bladed weapons
  • Whips
  • Explosives
  • Blunt Weapons
  • Loud props such as whistles, horns, etc.
Prop weapons are allowed at the Fort Hamilton Comic Con! as long as the meet the following criteria; That they are composed of cardboard, foam - or something light. Prop firearms are allowed only if they cannot be mistaken for real weapons. The barrel of all prop firearms must be covered with brightly-colored caps. 

Prop weapons allowed into the Fort Hamilton Comic Con! are at the discretion of the Fort Hamilton Comic Con! staff and uniformed security personnel. When entering there will be a weapons check area and once cleared you will not have to go through the weapons check again. 

Safety is paramount, we will always err on the side of caution. There will be no place to store prohibited weapons on-site. If you have a weapon that is prohibited, you will be escorted from the building and not allowed back in with the weapon.

Please use common sense! We are trying to create a safe space for everyone.
 
General Information
  1. Online registration is required to Non Department of Defense (DoD) ID card holders, and recommended to DoD ID card holders. 
  2. Upon entry, a valid picture ID card with registration entry is required before checking in the U.S. Army Fort Hamilton facilities.
  3. You must wear your badge at all times (and around your neck) while at Fort Hamilton Comic Con .
  4. Be nice and have fun! So be friendly, make a new best bud, and have a paramount good time at Fort Hamilton Comic Con! 
  5. We don’t want anyone to trip and get hurt from stumbling over your outstretched feet, so grab a chair instead of the floor to rest.
  6. Fort Hamilton Comic Com Staff and Security have the right to ask you to leave the premises and refuse to refund the cost of your badge if you are behaving in an inappropriate fashion or seen with a counterfeit badge.
  7. Naked is not a costume. Please wear appropriate (or at least enough) clothing while attending the Fort Hamilton Comic Con. 
  8. Please abide by our weapons policy. In the harsh reality of our times, our security staff and local law enforcement officials will treat anything that looks like a real gun as a real gun.
  9. While we don’t want anyone to lose anything, the Fort Hamilton Comic Con is not responsible for lost, stolen or damaged property, or for injuries sustained during the course of the Fort Hamilton Comic Con. Please do not abuse the convention facilities. This includes putting signs on walls or trash anywhere other than a garbage can, smoking in non-designated smoking areas, among a variety of other things.
