James A. Deets
"The New Tax Laws:
What You Need to Know About the Compensation and Benefit Changes"

James Deets is a Senior Director at Alvarez and Marsal Taxand, LLC.  He advises clients on executive compensation and benefits matters.  James received his law degree with honors from Baylor University  Law School in 1993 where he was Assistant Managing editor of the Baylor Law Review.  He received a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences from Baylor in 1990, summa cum laude.  He is a member of the State Bar of Texas, as well as the Dallas Bar Association.

Karl Drescher is a financial professional with Mutual of Omaha.  He was appointed to the NAIFA-Dallas board in 2014 as Director of Professional Designations. He earned his FSS, as well as his LUTCF and RICP designations from The American College.  He is currently the NAIFA-Dallas Secretary and will become President of the association in 2019.
