Answering Difficult Questions

with Pastors Matt Komar and Brian Parker

Beyond offering some VERY practical techniques for leading your kids through conversations about difficult topics, this workshop aims to get you, as the parent, EXCITED for day those questions come your way. This will be a time together that both allays your fears and initiates a vision for how tough questions might get tackled in your home.

Matt Komar- Matt has over 10 years of experience as a youth pastor, which means he has plenty of experience disappointing teens when they bring him their biggest questions. Amidst all the failure, Matt has learned a few things, and has even improved a bit in his ability to navigate conversations with students about really difficult topics.

Brian Parker- Brian has a graduate degree in biblical interpretation (think nerd).  He often asks more difficult questions than he attempts to answer, but with a good cup of coffee in hand he’s happy to discuss anything. He grew up in a home with an alcoholic father, which has influenced and shaped how he now approaches parenthood—with a desire to be present, empathize and lead by example.

Please note that we will have special children's entertainment for the Graceland kids this morning (think songs, balloons and a bit of magic!) during these 9:30 parenting workshops.  We hope this allows some parents to stay for second service.  We're also saving extra room at this event for your friends and neighbors... so bring along any fellow parents in need of a bit of advice and any kids looking for a little entertainment!
