When is a compliment not a compliment? And how does one have power in the face of praise? This conversation will discuss how patients offer and seek praise and the range of analytic interpretations and interventions on the subject. Topics will include: when a patient praises an analyst; when patients seek praise from the analyst and others; and how patients respond when praised by the analyst.
