Heartland Presbytery Youth Mission Day with

Micah Ministries

We invite you to join us for a day of mission right here in Kansas City. Here are the details with a tentative itinerary:

-- We can only have UP TO 20 youth and 5 adults (This is our maximum number so register early!) All youth must be at least 12 years of age.

-- We will meet at 3:15pm in the parking lot of Heartland Presbytery. We'll then carpool over to Micah Ministries. (drop-off and pick-up will be at Heartland Presbytery)

--The volunteers do NOT eat at Micah Ministries, so a light dinner will be provided for our volunteers before we leave the presbytery office.

-- We will arrive at Independence Boulevard Christian Church at 4:00pm for orientation and a tour of this historic church building. The address is 606 Gladstone Blvd, KCMO, 64124, which is at the intersection of Gladstone and Independence Ave.

-- Our mission: We will assist with serving a meal to the community. We may also be doing some work in the clothes closet or children's supply area. The Micah Ministry guests typically arrive around 5:30pm and wrap up at around 7:00pm. Come prepared with a heart to serve.

-- After all of the Micah Ministry guests have left, we've finished with clean-up, and had some discussion and prayer over our experience together, we will depart the mission site for Heartland Presbytery.

-- What to wear?: Clothing is summer casual, so shorts, t-shirts, and sneakers would be appropriate. No revealing clothing.

-- The Micah Ministry is in great need of donated backpacks for teenagers and summer clothes for everyone - all sizes. These items can be new OR gently used. If you/your church can't send volunteers, perhaps consider holding a "mini summer clothes and backpack drive".
