Please join us for our 3rd Annual Community Credit Union Battle of the Boats Bass Fishing Tournament in collaboration with the 22nd Annual Androscoggin Bassmasters Gulf Island Pond Bass Open! Continental Breakfast 6am-7:30am and barbeque to follow the tournament with proceeds benefiting Maine Credit Union's Campaign to End Hunger!

Tournament Hours 8:00am-4:00pm, no cut off, 7 fish limit, 12" minimum. Blast off by registration, Registration by date received.

1. BOAT INSPECTIONS: All boats planning to enter the tournament will be required to allow a boat and livewell inspection by members of the tournament committee before launching in the morning and immediately after loading the boat on the trailer in the afternoon. No boat will be allowed to enter the tournament until the boat, trailer, and livewell are free of all weeds, crawfish, or other invaders or hitchhikers. We appreciate your understanding and patience while we perform this duty.

2. RULES & REGULATIONS: The tournament committee members are designated judges and are responsible for the interpretation and enforcement of the tournament rules. THEIR DECISIONS ARE FINAL. The judges are eligible to compete for all prizes.

3. INSURANCE: All boaters upon the request of the officials MUST show proof of $100,000 liability insurance either at registration or before receiving any awards.

4. PROTEST: Protest must be filed in writing before the first fish is weighed.

5. TOURNAMENT REGISTRATION: All teams must be signed in at the tournament headquarters no later than 7am the day of the tournament. Only two contestants allowed per boat. Contestants under the age of 16 must be teamed with a parent or guardian.

6. REFUNDS: There will be no refunds of tournament registrations. Pre-registration is highly recommended. Blast off by registration  number.

7. OFFICIAL CHECKPOINT: There will be only one designated checkpoint at the close of the tournament. Any contestant late for the weigh in will be penalized one pound per minute up to fifteen minutes, at which time the contestant will be disqualified.

8. SAFETY: Safe boating must be observed at all times. Life vest must be worn and fastened any time the combustion engine is in operation. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. All boats must have approved coast guard equipment on board including fire extinguisher and kill switch.

9. SPORTSMANSHIP: All participants are required to comply with all Fish and Wildlife regulations of the State of Maine and this tournament. ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES WILL NOT BE ALLOWED IN A TOURNAMENT BOAT, AT THE OFFICIAL WEIGH – IN, OR THE AWARDS CEREMONY. Violators of this rule will be disqualified. All contestants are expected to conduct themselves in a sportsman like manner at all times.

10. TACKLE PERMITTED: Only spinning, casting, or spin casting rods will be approved for this tournament. All bass must be caught on artificial lures in a sportsman like manner. No live or prepared baits with the exception of pork rind, etc. are allowed. A contestant may fish with only one rod at a time. However, he or she may have other rods prepared in the boat.

11. BOATS AND MOTORS: Electric motors or small gasoline engines may be used to maneuver a boat while fishing. NO TROLLING permitted. Combustion engines shall not exceed 250 H.P.

12. FISHING TIME: The tournament will start at 8:00 a.m. and end at 4:00 p.m. weather permitting.

13. SCORING: Only smallmouth and largemouth bass caught on tournament waters on tournament day will be scored. The minimum length limit shall be 12 inches. There is a 7 fish limit per boat with no weight restrictions. A 4oz. Penalty will be imposed for the weighing of a dead fish and a one-pound penalty for a short fish with the weight of the short fish not counting. To qualify as lunker, a fish must be weighed alive and released alive at the weigh - in site.

14. TIES: In case of a tie, the contestants with the largest live fish shall be declared the winner. The second tiebreaker will be the most fish weighed. The final tiebreaker will be a coin toss.

15. LIVEWELLS: All fish must be kept in a continuous flowing aerated livewell. OUR GOAL IS A 100% LIVE RELEASE.

16. FISHING LOCATION: Fishing is allowed on the Androscoggin River from the Northern boundary of the Route 219 BRIDGE and to the southern boundary at the SAFETY ROPES just before the dam downstream (NO GOING PAST THE ROPES). No contestant shall fish within 50 yards of another contestant whose boat is anchored. All fishing shall be conducted from the contestant’s boat. No person shall leave the boat except for emergencies.

17. AWARDS AND PRIZES: Contestants must be present at the awards ceremony to claim any money or prizes. Lunker pool will be divided evenly between largest largemouth and largest smallmouth (The amount to be determined by the number of contestants in the pool).

18. GUESS YOUR WEIGHT: Each guess cost $5, two guesses may be purchased per team. The winner will be determined by the team guess that is closest to the final bag weight after all deductions (dead, late, etc penalties) without going over. If no team guesses without going over the person closest to their guessed weight will win. All guesses must be in pounds and 100/oz, example 21.78 lbs.

19. NOT IN THE MONEY: This award goes to one or more teams that are not in the money. All teams that are out of the money will have a chance to win one of the prizes. Teams may only win this once.
