Please read the following prior to registering-
NATIONAL SHRM MEMBERSHIP INFORMATION: In addition to becoming a member of TCHRMA, we encourage you to become a member of National SHRM. Note that each of our organizations have different applications and membership fees. In order to be a member of each, you have to enroll separately in each group. If you become a member of SHRM, we encourage you to list TCHRMA as your affiliate chapter in your member profile. You may find information to join SHRM at www.shrm.org .
TCHRMA's Different Types of Memberships:
Our registration form will require you to select one of several types of memberships. Memberships are based on an individual, not a company basis. Membership definitions are as follows:
Professional - includes any of the following: a) practioners of HR management at the exempt level for at least 3 years; b) certified by HRCI, c) faculty members holding an assistant, associate or full professor rank with at least 3 years teaching experience or advisory to a student HR club or chapter; d) FT consultant with at least 3 years experience in the HR field; e)FT attorneys with at least three years experience relating counseling clients in matters relating to the HR profession. Professional members may vote and hold office in the chapter. $55 if you have a National SHRM Members; $65 if you do not have a National SHRM Membership. (you will be required to enter your SHRM Membership number).
Associate - includes individuals in non-exempt HR positions as well as those who do not meet the qualifications of the other classes of membership, but who demonstrate a bonafide interest in human resource management and the mission of the chapter. Associate members may not vote or hold office in the chapter. $55 or $65 as described above
Student - enrolled either as a FT or PT student at freshman standing or higher and enrolled in the equivalent of at least 6 credit hours, enrolled in a four-year or graduate institution and/or consortium of these or a two year community college with a matriculation agreement between it and a four-year college or university; able to provide verification of a demonstrated emphasis in human resource management subjects and able to provide verification of a college or university's human resources or related degree program. Student members may not vote or hold office in the chapter. Membership is free.
Affiliate - membership shall be limited to those individuals whose companies provide products and/or services directly to the professional human resource community and who hold a current SHRM membership. No more than 10% of the Association's membership may fall into this category. Affiliate members may not vote or hold office in the Association. $95
Transition - HR professionals who are eligible for professional or associate memberships but who are currently unemployed may join TCHRMA for one year free of charge. Let us help you by networking with us and helping you secure employment.
