2017 Pennsylvania Legal Aid Network Philadelphia Regional Training 

Registration is free to staff of the following PA Legal Aid Network (PLAN) programs: CJP, CLS, FoF, LLS, LASP, MPLS, NLSA, NPLS, NWLS, PHLP, PILP, PLA, PULP, RHLS and SWPLS. Registration includes training materials, breakfast and lunch. Registration for staff of non-PLAN public interest, government, or other non profit organization is $150.00.  The cost for all other registrants is $350.00. 

This training is targeted to the Staff of the Community Legal Services but is open to all of the Legal Services Community. The training agenda will include sessions on: 

• Expert Witnesses.
• Bringing Affirmative Litigation:  Not Always Being on the Defense also Looking for Ways to Pursue Opposing Parties.
• Working with Clients with Mental Health Issues/Diminished Capacity.
• Bankruptcy and Legal Services:  Plugging out Clients' Dikes When All Else Fails.
• Effective Advocacy in the Courtroom.
• Negotiation Skills:  Presented by Fellows from the American College of Trial Lawyers.  

Program Agenda

Travel expenses for Staff of Community Legal Services programs will be paid by PLAN, Inc. and may be paid for other PLAN program attendees.

CLE Credits:

This program has been approved by the Pennsylvania Continuing Legal Education Board for 4.0 hours of substantive law, practice and procedure CLE credit and 2.5 hours of ethics, professionalism or substance abuse CLE credit.
