In this unique experiential workshop you will have the opportunity to explore the nature, meaning, and use of dreams among shamanic peoples, with practices from a range of cultures. Subjects to be covered include shamanic dream theory and big dreams, as well as dreams and the soul, spirits, shamanic journey, the Dreamtime, and the vision quest.
You will have the opportunity to apply the knowledge to contemporary life, including the use of dreams in divination, health, and healing.
Prerequisite: the FSS Basic Workshop, The Way of the Shaman®, with an authorized FSS Faculty Member.
WHAT TO BRING. Please bring a rattle or a drum if you have one. Wear comfortable clothing, warm socks, and bring a bandanna, cushion and/or blanket (if the sponsor does not provide cushions)--chairs are available for those who need them, and a pen and notebook to record your journeys. (Electronic recording — audio, video, photographic — and the use of computers are not permitted during the workshop.)
Instructor: Timothy Cope is a writer, storyteller, firewalker and shamanic practitioner who has been exploring the shamanic path for over 30 years. He has been certified as a shamanic counselor by the Foundation for Shamanic Studies and been extensively trained in a wide range of shamanic techniques. For over 20 years, he has taught classes in shamanism and facilitated journeying circles at Pathways, an integrative healing center in Minneapolis. Timothy is on the faculty of the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. He lives and maintains a healing practice in Minneapolis.
