Paint with Local Baltimorean Artists Keva & Jasmin!

Keva (Michelle) Richardson was born and raised in Baltimore, MD. As a hobby, art was always an interest for her creative imagination. At 21 the hobby became a divine call once she surrendered her life to Christ. Like John the Baptist who chose to fulfill his call from the wilderness, Keva chooses to fulfill hers from the art studio. Using her God given talent and heavenly insight, Keva uses her art to teach, inspire & transform the lives of those who experience her work. Her favorite scriptures to live by are 1 Timothy 4:12 & 16, Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity; watch your life & doctrine closely. Persevere in them because if you do, you will save both yourself & your hearers. With these scriptures, Keva aims to be the example for the next generation of godly creatives & kingdom builders alike, forever thanking God that He chose her for such a humbling task. Jasmin was born in Baltimore and developed a passion for fine arts at a young age. She went on to attend George Washington Carver Center for the Arts and Technology, in Towson, MD, where she studied drawing and painting. Here she developed a traditional style of painting and developed a passion for creating portraits. In 2007 she won a Gold Key/ Regional Award in the Scholastics Art and Writing Competition for an oil painting. Manning was recently selected among various artists to showcase her artwork at Baltimore's historical African American festival, AFRAM, during the summer of 2018. Jasmin was also selected in 2018 to display her work during Art Basel Weekend in Miami, FL at MUCE 305's Ode to Hip Hop Group Art Exhibition. Her work is currently on view at Frederick Douglass Isaac Myers Maritime Museum in Baltimore, MD. Manning's Solo exhibition 'Black Figures', A collection of Paintings and drawings of  black icons, is also currently on view at the historical Arena Player's, Inc in Baltimore. After graduating in 2008, she attended Frostburg State University where she studied graphic design. Jasmin eventually transferred to Towson University in 2009 and went on to graduate in 2013 with a Bachelor of Science in Art and Design. She hopes to use her art and creative talents to inspire others. Manning's work has also garnered the attention of actors such as comedian Martin Lawrence and actress Felicia "Snoop" Pearson of the hit HBO TV show "The Wire." Nicole Logan, Founder of P.I.N.K. 4 the City, presents this Breast Cancer Awareness Month's #ListenUpMBC local event as we work together to end breast cancer disparities in our lifetime. This virtual event will connect community members to agencies, breast centers and support groups available within their backyard! Our goal is to remove misconceptions about who battles with breast cancer, and provide medical resources.

P.I.N.K. (Providing Information Necessary to Know) is an arts and cultural event to raise awareness about breast cancer among young African American women, ages 18-40, in Baltimore. P.I.N.K.'s mission is to educate and prevent the onset of breast cancer by informing young women about the importance of knowing their breast health.  By fusing education and culture, P.I.N.K. hopes to raise awareness about the severity of breast cancer in the African American community and help save a life.

Providing Information Necessary to Know (P.I.N.K.) works to prevent and treat breast cancer, while honoring breast cancer survivors for their tenacious spirits. The women honored are more than survivors, they are fighters, champions and trailblazers for breast cancer advocacy. These women show the younger generation what it means to not allow your circumstances to hinder your purpose in life.
