Managing Critical incident Stress with Aquatic Staff following a Major Incident (10:15am - 11:30am)
John Dowds, City Chaplain, City of Edmonton
John Dowds will share learnings from past critical incidents that the City has managed in aquatics. Participants will leave more informed, know the impacts of Critical Incident Stress on staff and the community, and have awareness of where to access additional resources if needed.

World Conference on Drowning Prevention Highlights and Updates (11:45am - 12:30pm)
Lifesaving Society Affiliate Partners
Lifesaving Society Affiliate Partners will share highlights from the World Conference on Drowning Prevention which was hosted by the Lifesaving Society Canada in October in Vancouver, British Columbia. Participants who may not have had the opportunity to attend will leave with first-hand accounts of others experiences and learnings.

Aquatic Facility Signage (1:30pm - 2:15pm)

Shauna and Heather will provide an overview of the new aquatic facility signage developed for the Edmonton YMCA aquatic facilities in partnership with the Lifesaving Society and Alberta Health Services. Participants will leave with information on the signage standard used by Lifesaving Society Alberta affiliates to develop new aquatic facility signage.

Aquatic Facility Safety Standards - Update (2:00pm - 2:45pm)

Kelly Carter will provide an update on national, provincial and territorial safety standards and impacts for public aquatic facilities.
