who wants to invest in real estate? 

This three-session webinar can help you make better investment decision, whether the property is intended for personal or commercial use.

Designed and conducted by SCORE NYC mentor and financial educator Diane Drey, the interactive program on Zoom will acquaint you with all the tools you need to make this important decision. 

Small breakout rooms ensure active participation and online discussion.

After these interactive webinar sessions, you will have the resources and knowledge to:

• Understand the financial resources you need and the steps to take to make an informed purchase
• Know the key clauses in a purchase contract and items to negotiate and put in an addendum
• Evaluate different mortgage offers to select the best offer
• Know what documents are needed to successfully obtain a mortgage and the factors banks use to make their decision on your application
• Project the ongoing ownership expenses including tax savings and depreciation benefits 
• Chose the appropriate title insurance and property ownership insurance to protect your interest
• Understand which professionals you will need to make the purchase
• Discuss the reasons for using real estate to diversify your investments, and the ongoing management responsibilities.

• Attend all 3 sessions in the series, making a commitment to yourself and others in the group
• Work in front of a full screen computer, allowing screen sharing in a quiet area where you can concentrate uninterrupted.
• Agree to complete pre-work before each session. This will optimize your learning experience by enabling you to discuss concepts and examples with your peers and instructor. Pre-work should take approximately 2 hours before the second and third sessions.
• Have handy a calculator for math calculations

Diane was formerly CEO of a New York Metro bottled-water manufacturing and distributing company. Her expertise is in financial planning and marketing. She holds an MBA in finance and has over 30-years’ experience running her own firm.
