Funding Your Small Business

Did you know that no matter what else your company does, it's always in the cash business?

For start-ups (or those already in business), this workshop will help you understand and manage your cash resources. You will discuss important questions with an experienced business lender and financial manager. You will leave better equipped to manage your company's finances. You will get answers to these questions:

What is "Funding"?

  • How much money will I need to reach breakeven or to achieve my financial goals?
  • Do I need new money, why, and what forms will be most appropriate?
  • What are the trade-offs among various funding alternatives?
  • What is "Leverage"? What are the risks to me and to the funder?
  • How do I find a funder? Where do I start looking? When?
  • If I can find a funder, what will be the terms & conditions?
  • What will the funder need to learn to make a decision?
  • Does my credit score matter?
  • What is the real cost of new money to my business?

Who should attend this workshop:

If you plan to start a business or if you have questions about cash needs to grow your business or to solve many common business problems.

Join us and participate in a valuable and thought provoking, interactive session leading to a follow-up discussion, at your option, with a SCORE NYC Mentor.

His success in the for-profit sector as a senior lending officer with major banks, a principal with a major accounting firm and CEO/founder/owner of a corporate finance advisory firm uniquely qualifies him on the area of finance. He has applied this experience and techniques to the nonprofit sector as board member, acting CFO, and member of executive management positions. Harry is a SCORE NYC Mentor.

Sharon Harris
