Attorney Sharon Abraham-Weiss has focused ACRI’s formidable legal prowess addressing some of Israel’s most challenging issues. Facing down threats to freedom of speech, minority rights and the rights of Israel’s poorest, Abraham-Weiss is “one of the top 10 most influential people working for social change in Israel” (The Marker). 

ACRI is Israel’s oldest and largest human rights organization. ACRI is responsible for many of Israel's ground-breaking civil rights laws, including:

• the disqualification of racist political parties
• the right to equal rent assistance for Arab and Jewish families
• the inclusion of Conservative and Reform Jews in nationwide religious policy-making.

Mira Oreck serves at the Director of Public Engagement at the Broadbent Institute, where she creates opportunities to broaden political participation. She also directs the Institute's office in British Columbia. Recently, Mira launched Feed Democracy, an initiative to engage restaurants across Metro Vancouver to encourage their customers to vote in the municipal elections.
