The Prevention Academy brings together NC Prevention Partners, Chambers of Commerce, wellness leaders and local businesses that are committed to establishing a strong wellness environment for their community. Prevention Academies are open to WorkHealthy AmericaSM participant organizations.
This Prevention Academy will include:
- Interactive presentations focused on how to create a "culture of wellness" that includes executive leadership, human resource and financial capacity for wellness, and a plan to evaluate your progress over time;
- Guest speakers, including JPS CEO Ben Hamrick, Mission Hospitals VP Donita Fleming and YMCA of Western NC COO John Mikos discussing their successes and challenges establishing a culture of wellness;
- Networking time with other attendees and experts from NCPP's staff;
- Small group training sessions on establishing tobacco-free policies, physically active worksites, and negotiating preventive benefits.
