Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Cedar Hill
Rhoda L. Savage is a Fighting Texas Aggie who has served the municipal sector for over 21 years. She received a Bachelor of Science degree from TAMU in 1979, majoring in biology with chemistry minor. Shortly thereafter she pursued her graduate degree from TAMU, graduating in 1982 with a Master of Science degree in Exercise Physiology. In 1996 to 1999 she attended the University of Arlington in pursuit of a degree in Architecture. In 1999, she received a Masters Degree in Architecture and worked within the architectural profession from 1999-2003. She fulfilled the requirements necessary to take the Architectural Registration Examination (ARE) for State licensure prior to returning to City government in 2003.
During her 21 years of public service, she has served in the capacity of Parks and Recreation Department Director for approximately 16 years. As a director, she assisted with the completion of Parks, Recreation, Trails and Open Space Master Plans for the City of Allen and the City of Highland Village. She is currently working through the public input process creating a Parks, Recreation, Trails and Open Space Visioning Master Plan for the City of Cedar Hill.
She began working for the City of Cedar Hill in January 2010 and claims she has finally found home and what she considers the best place she has ever worked.
