A Conversation on Inclusion with Rick Daniels, Dean of Students, Rock Valley College
Rick Daniels, M.S.Ed.Rick Daniels is an educator, scholar, and an advocate for higher education. Professionally, he holds the title of Dean of Students at Rock Valley College, where he focuses on a broad range of student-centered services.
Rick received his bachelor's degree in Journalism from the University of Wisconsin - Whitewater in 2008 and his Master’s in Professional Development in 2011 from the same institution. Rick is considered to be a thought leader on a variety of contemporary topics includingbut not limited to; race, social justice, unconscious bias, hip-hop culture, and various subjects across the higher education spectrum. He is a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. and is the author of Tap Dancing without Shoes: The History of Stepping and the Impact on Greek Life and Popular Culture.
Rick is happily married and a father to four wonderful children; Christian, Madison, Morgan, and Chloe Daniels. He lives by the simple yet powerful mantra, “Today Is a New Day and Another Opportunity.”
