Who says research reports, literature analysis, and informational writing have to be dry and boring? Based on partly 51 Wacky We-search Reports and it's forthcoming sequel, this workshop will give you scores of analog and digital ideas for transforming writing in your class into a safe place where students are free to experiment with form and voice.

Because humorists have to make people laugh, they have to explore a subject from more than one angle, be truthful and specific, and play with masks. For this reason the best humor involves rigorous multi-dimensional and synthetic thinking. This is the kind of thinking that engages students an leads to deep comprehension of content at all grade levels. In this workshop we will not only learn to laugh--we will laugh to learn!
