Scholar Mathletes Program

Application is now open for the Niswonger i3/Eastman Scholar Mathletes Program.

(Participation is limited to Northeast Tennessee high school math teachers only.)

The Niswonger i3/Eastman Scholar Mathletes program is a high school extension of the acclaimed Eastman Scholar Mathletes program, a professional development initiative previously for elementary and middle school teachers only.  Selected participants will receive 3 hours of graduate credit from ETSU, a personal stipend of $599, mileage reimbursement, and a $700 allowance for classroom materials.  Participation is limited to 32 teachers.

This two-week program will be facilitated by university professors with a depth of knowledge in mathematics and mathematics education.  Participants will learn from the presenters and from each other in the collaborative format.  Follow-up support, during the following school year, is a valuable component.  Previous participants attest to the quality of this professional development experience.

Applicants will be notified of their selection status by May 26, 2015.  Once selected, the Center of Excellence in Mathematics and Science Education at ETSU will facilitate the process of application and enrollment.
