Crowdfunding: What to Know Before Starting a Campaign

Created By Gregory Paley

Crowd funding is growing in popularity as a method for raising capital, promoting products or services, and attracting new customers.

In a few short years, the amount of pledges and money raised through crowd funding has surpassed the $2 billion mark in the United States and abroad. However, while a few high profile crowd funding projects have piqued the public's interest from boardrooms to classrooms the reality is that a majority of crowd funding projects never achieve their funding goals and in many cases leave project creators confused and disillusioned.

So what separates the successful crowd funding projects from those that have sent creators back to the drawing board?

In this three and a half hour workshop, we will introduce business owners and entrepreneurs to the crowd funding phenomenon and provide a detailed road map so you can decide if crowd funding is right for your idea, project or business.

Topics covered:

• Why should I consider crowd funding?
• How do I select a platform?
• What are the crowd funding models?
• How do I create a successful campaign?
• What are the best practices and strategies?
• Bend the CurveŽ to launch your crowd funding project or idea

At the conclusion of this workshop participants will have gained a thorough understanding of how this strategic business and funding model has changed the way companies view their businesses, the competitive landscape and their customers.

This is an interactive workshop. All attendees are encouraged to participate and to collaborate with others throughout the session. During this workshop you will also have the opportunity to meet and network with other local entrepreneurs and business people.

This workshop was created and is led by Greg Paley. He has more than 20 years experience as an adviser, entrepreneur, and commercial lawyer. Since 2013, Greg has advised many hundreds of start-ups and frequently speaks on entrepreneurship, business, and leadership. For more information, please visit, www.paley.com.
