Watch a brief introduction to this online event here

Covid-19 and our climate crisis is inviting us all to recalibrate our appreciation of Mother Nature where ever we are in the world. We are finding in Mother Nature the resourcing, solace, and support we need to re-vitalise and rebalance our own meaning making inner ecology as we face into the myriad of challenges out in the world. Partnering with Nature and exploring the metaphor of each season as we experience it enables us to draw upon its qualities, essence, and symbolism for insight, discovery, creative reflection, and wisdom.

In this way we are attending both to our own inner ecology, growing our resilience, deepening our connections with all of life as we build our own capacities and reservoirs for working from the place of our deepest humanity with our clients in today’s ever changing and complex world.

The series will offer creative reflection and practical resources in an inter-active co-learning experience based on the  inspiration offered in the language of each of the seasons, season by season as we live them whether we live in either the northern or southern hemisphere. Living through the whole cycle will give you an opportunity to discover a new lens to bring fresh insight, new perspectives, and wisdom to revitalize and resource practitioners. The series has been inspired by Karyn Prentice’s book “Nature’s Way: Designing the Lives you want Through the Lens of Nature and the Five Seasons” with further material from Elaine Patterson’s book “Reflect to Create! The Dance of Reflection for Creative Leadership, Professional Practice and Supervision”. Karyn's book is available to purchase with this series at a discounted rate.

Here is a taster of what each season brings:

  • Winter: an invitation into reflection, inspiration, deep listening, being still, finding grace
  • Spring: an invitation into new beginnings, seeding and planting ideas, clear vision, emergence
  • Summer: an invitation into ripening and maturing, passion and celebration, play, sharing goodwill
  • Late summer: an invitation savouring and appreciating of what is, clarity, taking stock and harvesting our endeavors
  • Autumn: an invitation for pruning, letting go, being grateful, and developing grit

There will be one webinar for each of the five season series over 12 months beginning in January starting with the season of Winter in the Northern Hemisphere and Summer in the Southern Hemisphere. Each webinar will provide you with ideas, exercises, poetry, and practices, which you can use for yourself and in your professional practice. And there is an open invitation to take the exploration outside and connect personally through themed reflective coach walks for yourself or with your clients.

This series is for coaches, supervisors, leaders, OD and HR specialists, and L&D practitioners and for anyone who is interested in enriching their practice and greening their work. The series is for anyone who works with other people who are on the frontiers of facilitating transition and change.

Join this series where ever you live. Many EMCC members are global citizens living in a global village. Let us use the inspiring metaphoric bridge of nature as part of a repeating, continuous life cycle, finding a shared language, a shared communality and exploring our shared humanity which unites us all:  namely that we all share one earth and we all live in a landscape of one kind or another, whether it is green and grass filled or red and earthy or urban all the way, whether it is the wetlands or arid but which all needs our loving care as we face into the imperatives of our eco climate emergency where ever we live.

'Those who contemplate the beauty of the earth find reserves of strength as long as life lasts. There is something infinitely healing in the repeated refrains of nature -   the assurance that dawn comes after night, and Spring comes after winter. ' Rachel Carson.

  2. Explore this metaphor helps you to refine and fine-tune your connection with Nature,
  3. Help  nourish and align your inner ecology with the constant demands of  work and life as you help your clients to do the same
