Using client feedback for professional development of the executive coach - 25 Feb 2020 @ 18.30 cet

About the webinar

The webinar introduces a new and powerful source of information to enrich the professional development of executive coaches. Drawing on the doctoral research recently completed by Dr Hélène Seiler, its premise is to turn a proposition on its head. Most executive coaches are highly skilled in offering developmental feedback to their clients. What if they were in a position to unlock the hidden power that clients have to give them developmental feedback? Clients spend the most time observing their executive coaches in practice, way more than all other observers combined. Arguably these executives and managers routinely display coaching skills when leading projects and teams. They have developed a body of knowledge about coaching (at least implicitly) and may have something valuable to say to their executive coach about what they observe and how they are experiencing them during a coaching session. The webinar will tackle a number of questions about client development feedback such as:

  • What types of behaviours are most likely to warrant actionable client feedback?
  • How can client feedback complement other sources of developmental growth for the coach?
  • What are the implications for the design and delivery of executive coaching engagements?
  • Finally, and most importantly: is seeking client feedback likely to increase the quality of executive coaching?

The webinar will be recorded and a copy of the recording will be sent to everyone who books (subject to any IT hiccups), whether they attend or not, within five working days of the event.
