EMCC International research webinar: Relational Feedback - 23 January 2018 @ 18.30

It’s not what you say - it’s how you say it!

About the webinar

The activity of feedback - however ‘named' - often creates anxiety in both the giver and the receiver. In an organisational context some will say it takes courage to offer feedback, especially to those in more senior positions and who are perceived as being able to affect career development

We may believe we have the capacity to accept others’ observations about us and also to have the capacity to give transparent feedback in return.  However, how true is this in reality? Comments perceived as ‘criticism’ are likely to be avoided in the feedback discussion in favour of offering only those that are positive. Diluting feedback in this way leads to doubt about the authenticity of these superficial conversations.

To support the developing emphasis on relationship in coaching / mentoring text this webinar introduces you to the PPR Relational Framework as a ‘way of being’ in the feedback conversation. The framework was created from Lise Lewis’s doctoral study on ‘creating the conditions for receptivity of feedback’ and features in her book ‘Relational Feedback: it’s not what you say - it’s how you say it' due for publication in 2018.
