More Information

GTSF is a Las Vegas-based 501c3 organization  providing disadvantaged children and children in crisis with new shoes and socks. Our shoe distribution programming is hosted onsite at qualifying schools in an effort to best reach large groups of  children most in need of our resources. GTSF outfits more than 10,000 children annually through 25+ activations.

Each of our shoe distributions are staffed by caring community volunteers who work one-on-one with the participating children to assist them in selecting their very own brand new pair of properly fitting sneakers. We're always eager to introduce new volunteers to what we do best.

Important Volunteer Information:

  • At this time, GTSF is requiring ALL volunteers to be vaccinated against COVID-19 at the time of their registration.
  • Covid-19: GTSF is following the CDC guidelines that say both fully vaccinated and unvaccinated people must currently wear masks in most indoor settings. While our events are outside, GTSF is currently requiring ALL volunteers, even those vaccinated, to wear masks that cover nose, mouth and chin for the entirety of any GTSF event. These best practices will be updated in line with CDC and Clark County School District guidelines and are subject to change at any time.
  • Time Commitment: We are counting on you to help make this event successful, therefore volunteers must arrive on time and are required to stay throughout the entire volunteer commitment - NO late arrivals or early departures

  • Physical Requirements & Attire: GTSF distributions are rain-or-shine outdoor events with physically-demanding tasks that include extended periods of standing, walking, bending, kneeling, etc. There are NO sit-down positions available. Volunteers must meet these physical requirements without limitation and dress appropriately for the activity and weather (no open-toed shoes). If your mobility is limited in any way, we do not recommend volunteering for distributions. We do occasionally have additional volunteer opportunities at our offices that require less physical activity. Feel free to contact us if you have questions about the physical requirements of our shoe distribution events.

  • Minor VolunteersDue to COVID restrictions, GTSF is not currently accepting any volunteers under the age of 18.

  • Volunteer Restrictions: GTSF never accepts volunteers fulfilling court-ordered community service requirements.

  • Cancellation Policy: Registered volunteers are required to provide a minimum of 24-hour notice when cancelling their volunteer commitment. Individuals are permitted three cancellations within a school year (August - May). After a third registration cancellation, volunteers are no longer permitted to volunteer with GTSF.

  • No-Show Policy: Registered volunteers who cancel within 24 hours of an event or fail to show for their scheduled volunteer commitment will be deemed a "No-Show" for the event. Individuals who no-show twice within the school year (August - May) will no longer be permitted to volunteer with GTSF.
  • Cellphone Usage: Cellphone usage during an event negatively impacts the childrens' experience and the one-on-one mentorship opportunity, so volunteers are to refrain from being on their phones or taking calls.
