Cloud communications is poised for rapid growth in the hospitality industry. SDD's JAZZ Fusion is the pivotal middleware technology supporting the hotelier's shift of guest voice and internet technologies away from the hotel premise and into the cloud. SDD's telecom analysts have developed the investment models used by both hoteliers and their managed services providers to financially justify cloud transitions. Further SDD itself has made a business model transition away from traditional premise-based software revenue models to that of a software as service (SaaS) provider. Ron Tarro, President of SDD, will discuss the transition to cloud for both his company and his hotelier and service provider customers. He will discuss the hoteliers motivations in moving telecommunications services to a cloud provider and he will review what he believes are the critical success factors for service providers attempting to access the hospitality industry.
11:30 am to 12:30 PM CALEA- The FBI is looking at companies that provide hosted communications. The FBI’s "top priority" in 2013 is to modernize surveillance law so authorities can monitor in real time the Web activities of Americans suspected of committing crimes, the FBI’s general counsel said. The law, known as the
Communications Assistance for Law Enforcement Act, or CALEA, applies to telecommunications companies. The CCA has invited the former law enforcement and national security professionals at Subsentio, a nationally-recognized Trusted Third Party, to provide background on CALEA’s application to VoIP and Cloud-based communications and will discuss recent examples of the law enforcement community’s increased vigilance in enforcing its right of direct access to Cloud-based communications networks. Steve Bock, Subsentio President will also detail the road map for service provider compliance through CALEA’s “Safe Harbor” provisions.
12:30 pm to 2:00 PM Lunch Key Note Speaker- Michael Tessler, president and chief executive officer of Broadsoft will focus on the future of Unified Communications and how the growing demand for mobile UC is disrupting, in a positive way, the productivity and efficiency of enterprises. 2:45 pm – 3:15 pm Polycom - Shawn Puddester - Markets and Solutions Review
3:45 pm to 4:45 pm The communications industry is about to undergo more change in the next 3-7 than it has in the last 20-30 years. New technologies like WebRTC, VoLTE and RCS are about to transform the way
communications work and the way we build systems. From BYOD, web portals, next generation web site integrated contact centers, CEBP, and collaboration/federation, these technologies will change the enterprise marketin ways we are just now beginning to understand.
WebRTC will transform the web server/consumer market opening huge new opportunities. With
50 million servers being capable of being communications hosts and 800 million WebRTC devices by the end of 2013 and 3-4 billion by 2016, this technology will transform not only communications, but business, social and geo-political environments.
This session will cover what these technologies are, their promise for transformation, as well as the issues they raise in teems of security, bandwidth demands, privacy and adoption. This session will help Cloud Communications providers begin to understand how these transformations will impact current business and open significant new opportunities.
