Choose from one of the four workshops designed for church leadership and congregational growth
Asking for Jesus - The Rev. Suzanne M. Culhane
How we ask people to participate in God’s Kingdom is critical to the success of any stewardship and fundraising effort. Come for a lively session that will present the most effective ways of asking – best pledge and gift solicitation practices for the Church. We will discuss the Offertory, personal visits, customized appeals, and phone engagement. We will consider all giving channels including apps and digital. Come away with critical learning to support this year’s annual pledge drive. You will be empowered and surprised!
Invite Welcome Connect - The Rev. Canon Claire Woodley
Build a proactive missional approach to discipleship and church growth. The training continues as we build imagination and community engagement. The day will cover how to build a church culture that invites seeking people, deeply incorporates a welcome ministry into your church life, assists new folks in getting connected to a meaningful relationship with God, and nurtures them as new church members.
Education for Ministry (EfM) - The Rev. John Musco, Deacon
Learn how the Education for Ministry (EfM) program can develop lay leadership in your church. Through study, discussion and reflection, participants in EfM discover the unique gifts each one of us possesses for the healing and restoration of the world, building on a foundation of knowledge of scripture, the church and theology. You will learn the practicalities of how EfM works and how you can start a group at your church. Then we will learn by doing: engaging in group formation and practicing active listening techniques. And we will learn how to do a theological reflection.
Congregational Development Institute - The Rev. Elisabeth Tunney
DCDI is a program for clergy and lay leaders who desire to transform their congregations by making them stronger, healthier, more deeply rooted in Anglican Spirituality, more responsive to God, and more effective in their communities. Come explore the power of the Renewal-Apostolate Cycle, a model for understanding a central dynamic of Christian life. You will learn how we move between being renewed in baptismal identity and purpose and living as instruments of God’s love and grace in daily life and how our parish can support and facilitate this movement.
